INFORMATION REGARDING TESTING OF SAMPLES FOR SARS-CoV-2 IN THE EMERGENCY SITUATION

• Regional VRDL, ICMR-NICED is a designated centre for testing of COVID-19, presently catering to the states of Sikkim and West Bengal.
• The Govt. approved testing centres of West Bengal and their district-wise linkage are mentioned in Annexure I.
• The properly collected, labelled and packaged clinical samples SHOULD BE SENT ONLY AFTER DUE INTIMATION TO THE NODAL PERSONS OF THE CORRESPONDING STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENTS (for WB refer Annexure I, www.wbhealth.gov.in  ).
• The strategy of COVID-19 testing in India laid by DHR/ICMR/MoH&FW and updated from time to time should be followed for selection of cases.
• Each sample should be accompanied by properly filled in Specimen Referral Form (Annexure II)
• Guidelines regarding sample collection, packaging and transport (Annexure III).
