NOTICE
In Supersession of all
previous communications related to the Ph.D. Committee, an
Academic Council has been constituted as a measure to improve
the research output. The Composition of the Academic Council
and terms of references are given below:

Terms of References:
- Academic Council will act as Research
monitoring cell to review the existing/and new intramural
projects before placing in the Scientific Advisory
Committee. Director may co-opt any faculty member of NICED
for any Academic Council meeting.
- Selection of Ph.D. students should be
routed through the Academic Council. Any requisition from
the concerned Scientists for the above mentioned position
should be addressed to the Academic Council for onward
transmission to the Director for final approval.
- Academic Council will normally meet
four times a year for the selection of Ph.D. students having
CSIR / UGC / ICMR NET, GATE / M.Tech / M.Phil etc who are
exempted from appearing at the Ph.D. entrance test as per
UGC rules.
- Academic Council and faculty members
of NICED will organized the Ph.D. Course work.
- Academic Council will help the
Coordinator of the Summer training programme for the
Selection of students and their placements to different
laboratories of the Institute.
- Summer training programme will be
conducted during June to August each year.
